About mediaKos "membership": To each according to his/her ability, interest and time.
- Non-diarists: help us get the word out when we launch it (twitter, letting Kossack diarists know about using the tag)
- Diarists: If you happen to write a media-related diary and it fits the mediaKos tag criteria, please use the tag.
- If you want to spearhead or work with a sub-group on a specific topic, do it!
- If you work with any organization/blog that works on media issues already, we want to work with you.
- If you happen to have a handy database of media (MSM + blogs) contact info, send it to ParkRanger
Also I want to know what you think of having criteria for using the mediaKos tag -
yes or no?
If so:
- Must include action item? Yes or no?
- I would hope all mediaKos diaries would be well-sourced and factual but how do we make that subjective criterion objective? Who gets to decide that? Tricky...
- Other ideas?
Lastly, I'd like to suggest the idea of mediaKos subgroups that could tie in with the weekly community series topics with tremendous potential for cross-posting and working with existing blogs/bloggers/Kossacks, e.g.:
- Media accountability, fact-checking
- Mass media and propaganda
- How to shut down or counter hate radio (e.g., I know certainot is very passionate about this, but not certain he/she writes diaries)
- Attack on Fox News, News Corps & Rupert Murdoch
- KingOneEye does this all the time anyway, as do so many others (who?)
- Rupert Murdoch's Psychological Terrorism on America (I'll do a diary, at least)
- Unenergy's proposal to map Murdoch's empire and havoc-wreaking; try to figure out a subversive way to get the word out to wingnuts that Fox is owned by foreigners with an agenda: Saudis and Murdoch... etc.
